'Midnight, Texas' Renewed for Season 2 with New Showrunners

NBC has renewed Midnight, Texas for a second season. Eric Charmelo and Nicole Snyder, who served as consulting producers in season 1, will be stepping up as showrunners as series creator Monica Owusu-Breen exits the show.

Midnight, Texas Season 1 Finale Recap: Do the Midnighters Get a Happy Ending?

Based on the book series by Charlaine Harris, Midnight, Texas revolves around a remote town in Texas where supernatural beings thrive. Francois Arnaud takes the lead as Manfred Bernardo, a psychic who can communicate with spirits. The series also stars Dylan Bruce as BoBo, the proprietor of Midnight Pawn; Parisa Fitz-Henley as a witch named Fiji; Arielle Kebbel as a mysterious assassin named Olivia; Jason Lewis as a fallen angel named Joe; and Peter Mensah as Lemuel, a wise vampire.

"I am stoked at the prospect of a second season of Midnight, Texas," said Harris, who also wrote The Southern Vampire Mysteries, which were adapted into the True Blood TV series. "I can't wait to revisit my favorite town to discover what its inhabitants have been up to the past few months. Now the viewers, who've been asking me questions daily, will have their reward."
